How to take care a parakeet leg injured?

my parakeet is injured due to bad landing, the injured is the right leg. maybe he is too fat that's one reason i see. please help me how to take care of him is there something to put in his injured leg? i cant go him to the veterinary because of too far at my place. please help :( i don't want him to die
